The fact, delays

A few days ago we received an announcement from our ODM that we are facing a serious CPU shortage from AMD in Q3 2020. Large orders that have recently been confirmed to be shipped from our ODM in the middle and end of September are now supposed to be delayed until October.

This is explained by a serious uptick in demand from larger brands. We currently have an order backlog with our ODM on Ryzen 7 4800H, but the goods won't reach our ODM before End of October.

As you may be aware by now, we just launched two new AMD based models, the KDE Slimbook and the Slimbook ProX. aquíTheir success caught us by storm and the first batch has been sold out already ( we will start shipping them in about a week ). We have been waiting for over a year to introduce an AMD model that met our quality standards for Linux and we are really sorry and deceived knowing that we are going to be unable to met our clients demand.

Stocks, times and pricing

 

All our stock is already sold out, but a new shipment is on the way and we will restock in early September.

Those of you who bought your laptop with an assembly time of 2-3 weeks, won’t get their orders delayed by more than a couple of weeks at most.

Those who placed your order with an assembly time of 4-5 weeks, will have their orders delayed until the first half of September.

Supply and demand prices will be impacted as well. Our suppliers already raised component prices for us and we will reflect this soon at our shop.
Those who already placed their orders, don’t worry, your prices stay the same.

Where can I see the waiting time?

Go to the store and click on the product you want to buy, the information will appear below the purchase button or in a pop-up window. This is where we will update the information as we have new dates.

What do I buy then?

Both Intel and AMD laptops have their strengths. If you need computing power, buy an AMD Slimbook while there is still stock, but if you need a more balanced computer with good computing performance and improved graphics performance, go for the Intel one with dedicated Nvidia graphics.
