KDE Slimbook keyboard not functioning correctly

Hey,

I've had my KDE Slimbook for a number of years, and never had a problem until today.

The keyboard doesn't function correctly, when pressing the Enter key, it launches the Print Screen function?

I've checked the mapping by launching the virtual keyboard and when I press Enter it shows as the End key being pressed. There are also other keys which are not correctly functioning such as Left Arrow seems to be mapped to backslash '\' and Super Key doesn't work?

Any help or recommendations would be much appreciated!

Good afternoon Ant,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with the keyboard.
It sounds like the keyboard itself has become unconfigured, try flashing the BIOS and EC of your computer.

Bizarrely, shortly after I raised this issue here, the KDE Slimbook started to work as normal, I did not do anything related to the BIOS and EC. I'm not entirely sure what happened, which is a bit of a worry, but will see how it goes and if it starts to happen again, I'll try and flash the BIOS etc.

Good morning,

Wow how strange, and you tell us how it works for a few days, if not try to flash BIOS and EC.

Also try to do maintenance cleaning the keyboard, maybe some kind of dirt or impurity is causing the problem.
