Excalibur - Smart battery

Avatar

Gents,

I'm new to Slimbook - and fairly new to Linux, so apologies for any neophyte question.

I have the latest xcalibur with SlmbookOS KDE - love it.

I have a doubt about the Smart Battery function - to my understanding this is enabled automatically and would stop the charge early. However mine seems to load consistently to 99%, and not stopping at a lower percentage. I am using the original charger.

What can I check or do to get this ?

Thanks in advance

Good morning, FC

As mentioned here: https://slimbook.com/en/blog/guides-2/post/smartbattery-what-is-it-and-how-does-it-work-396
I understand that you are following the instructions of letting it discharge below 94% or more and then connect the charger again to get a normal cycle
You can try checking your power statistics to check the capacity of the battery and see how much capacity it has, it is normal for batteries to degrade and lower its capacity, it is recommended to do a battery calibration after a while (2-3 months of usage) or when the capacity drops below 80%
I will link you a tutorial explaining the process: https://slimbook.com/en/blog/guides-2/post/how-to-recalibrate-your-slimbook-battery-391

Regards,

Thanks foe clarifying. I had misread and understood that the charge would stop at 95%, or similar settings like TLP does.

All good then.
